Sometimes, as adults, we expect more out of children than we’re willing to do ourselves. I mean, when I’m tired and hungry, I get cranky and a little snappish (my girls will attest to this fact). Never has someone telling me “straighten up” changed my crankiness–only rest and something decent to eat will fix it. My point is…if we are going to place expectations on others we need to be setting the example first. Before I point fingers, maybe I should look in the mirror and examine my own conduct. Am I behaving appropriately in speech, love, faith, and purity?
