Pray

You can’t hang out on the Internet these days without seeing political posts. Some are to support a candidate; others are to condemn a candidate. Very few cover the subject of praying for the candidates. But that is what we have been called to do—to pray for those in authority. I am thankful to live in a country where I have the right to cast my vote. I am thankful to serve a God who reigns supreme no matter who sits in the Oval Office of the White House. Whoever holds that position needs our prayers for discernment, strength, and protection. Praying is helpful to the one in leadership, but prayer also is helpful to the one offering it up. When we pray, we put ourselves in communion with Father, which brings us closer to Him. When we are close to Him, we find a place of peace. Pray, dear Christians, for our leaders. They need it, and we need the blessing of offering it.
