Hushed expectation

ps29.2.001

When I was a little girl, I attended church wearing my best dress, with my hair curled and shoes shined. When I entered the sanctuary I knew I was entering GOD’s house, and I behaved respectfully. Lots of things have changed over the years. Dresses are hard to find and sometimes I wear flip-flops (embellished ones!), but there are some things that should never change…such as our humble respect for God. He alone is worthy of praise. When we come into His presence it should be with a hushed expectation that we will experience His splendor. How can I do that if I haven’t prepared my heart? Let me never come before Him flippantly. He deserves my best.
