Grace is a gift

Recently I had some visitors who tried to convince me that “if” I lived a pure life and “if” I did good rather than evil, “then” I might be fortunate enough to someday live in Paradise. They were very sincere and very well-meaning, but they were also very wrong. I cannot ever do enough to earn eternity with God. If I tried to earn it, then I would be denying grace. Grace is a gift offered, freely offered. I can’t lose it by messing up. I can’t add to it by being extra good. Grace…is…grace. There is my security, and I am so grateful that I need not ever worry that I am not His.
