“…bought at a price”—the life of God’s only Son. God sacrificed His best for us, and He asks us to sacrifice self for Him. A Christian isn’t only a name, it’s a commitment to live a holy life, which means to be set apart. For example, a Christian loves his neighbor and puts others’ needs above his own. He remembers that, as God’s child, he has an obligation to present himself acceptable before God and man. Every now and then it’s beneficial for us to do some self reflection and ask God to reveal anything in our lives that isn’t pleasing to Him, and then work to pluck out that habit or behavior or action…or inaction. Both a saved-by-grace Christian and a lost sinner is a walking billboard. If we walk like the world, only seeking to serve self, how can we glorify Him?
