For years, when I watched the news and read reports of man’s inhumanity or acts of violence and heartlessness, I became angry. Some might call it a righteous anger because it was aimed at immoral, unGodly behavior, but it was anger all the same. My blood pressure would rise, and I would stew for hours afterward. Not healthy. So I began a simple prayer: “God, break my heart for what breaks Yours.” Most recently I’ve added, “Infuse me with Your compassion.” And suddenly those types of news reports stirred a different emotional response. Tears would well. My chest would ache. And I would be swept up in the realization that these people are LOST. They are condemned. They need my prayers. They need my Savior.
I firmly believe we are seeing so much wickedness because the devil knows his time is limited. He must wreak as much havoc as he can before he is banned to the depths of Hades. And that means man’s chance to accept salvation and choose Jesus as Lord is also limited. Dear Christian brothers and sisters, do not lose hope! Our Jesus is on His throne. No evil can change that truth. So cling to hope, and also pray. It is God’s will that NONE should perish. Let’s storm Heaven with prayers for the lost to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ!
