Blameless before Him

I used to tell my fifth grade students true character is doing the right thing even when no one is looking. The thing I wasn’t allowed to add (since I taught in public school) is that Someone is always looking. We might sneak things past our parents, our boss, our spouse, or the neighbors…but nothing escapes God’s notice. If we claim to be His child, then our first obligation is to know what He wants of us (we discover this in His Word) and to do it. Striving to be blameless before Him in speech, attitude, and behavior is a sign of true character. It’s also the sign of a dedicated Christian.
